My Story

Early Saturday morning on September 24th, 2016, Dean Otto was riding his bicycle and was hit from behind by a truck. Paralyzed from the waist down, he had a 2% chance to walk again. His back was shattered, he was literally broken in half.

Through a series of medical, spiritual and physical miracles, Dean came back and made a full recovery, becoming friends with his doctor and the man who hit him. Together they gave back, running a half marathon one year to the day later and have raised close to $100,000 for spinal cord injury patients. They became better people for having gone through this seemingly terrible experience together.

Their story was featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show, ABC World News Tonight, The 700 Club and many others, creating international attention.

Deans' story has many layers of resiliency, recovery, faith, forgiveness, acceptance and gratitude. Learn more about how Dean can inspire your group in person, and read about his miraculous journey.
